Microsoft is probably going to launch a replacement Surface device which will use their own ARM-based processor. If this news is true, it'll be the primary time Microsoft's chip are going to be installed on a Surface device. the rationale is, Microsoft previously still relied on chips made by Intel, Qualcomm and AMD.
Slowly but surely, Microsoft is trying to remain faraway from Intel and other chip makers like Qualcomm and AMD. However, the bulk of Surface products currently use Intel chips.
Reportedly, Microsoft is designing their own ARM-based chips and stopped using chips made by Intel, and later the chips are going to be utilized in Azure Cloud Platform services and consumer products like Surface.
Like Apple's silicon processor, this mysterious Microsoft processor are going to be supported an ARM design and can run on Windows 10 ARM or Windows 10X ARM. Of course, this may be an important blow for Intel within the future because it's to lose one among its biggest customers.
Currently, Intel processors are at the guts of just about all Surface products made by Microsoft. In fact, the upcoming Surface Pro 8 also will sport an Intel 11th generation chipset with an Xe GPU.

The M1 processor made by Apple is superior with a really sharp score difference within the Geekbench test. Where M1 was ready to record a score of 1399 and Microsoft's chip was only 804 within the single-core category. Meanwhile, within the multi-core category, M1 scored 5450 and Microsoft's chip was only 3133.
Currently it's not known when Microsoft will officially announce the existence of their chipset. More details are likely to be revealed in 2021.
